Arbor strongly supports the deeply meaningful and transformative nature of culture, new ideas that fertilize and transform, and “the spirit of the word”. This represents the vision of the man who recovered the hope-principle that has been lost by many today, due to hardship, crisis, nihilism, and interiority, which is synonymous with depth and not intimacy. The believes that: practice should never be separated from reflection (even critical); intuition should not be separated from logos; nor the visible be separated from the invisible. Without a real cultural transformation from within, everything fades into the background.

CONFERENCES

“BECOME THIS”

November 2008, Milano
Mille Gru, a cultural association that produces PoesiaPresente (“Present Poetry”), cooperates with SpazioStudio on the creation of “Homage to Hermann Hesse”, Fourth Edition: Become the present – Hermann Hesse, Raimon Panikkar and us, by Patrizia Joy Peter and Sergio Mauri.

“THE MYSTICAL ECONOMIST”

November 2012, Milano
Covering the wide current debate on ethics and economics through a program that ranges from art to theater, the dialogue that the conference opened up focuses on the radical rethinking of the economy, inseparable from a profound change in mentality and culture, in order to re-focus on the meaning of life. This involves a holistic philosophical approach, inter/intra-cultural and spiritual, that rethinks and recreates our worldview.

“WHICH EUROPE?”

March 2014, Milano
The work we are conducting faces a crucial juncture, concerning not just the continent in which we live – Europe – but in fact the entire world and an entire era. More and more, we are realizing that the moment we are living is important, crucial: here and now, hic et nunc. Our culture is terminal, we need a paradigm shift, or more: a radical transformation. We are waiting for the start of a new cycle, a new spiral, or an ‘age cosmotheandric’ (to quote Panikkar) and we are trying to make our contribution. The most important links seems to us to be the holding together of spirituality and liberation, which means to combine internal and external, spiritual quest and commitment, ecological/ecosofical and political, in its most worthy and wide. It is also about overcoming discouragement that seems momentous, and not mistaking for fatal something that instead is convertible.
